Copper Coast Radio began life as Annestown Radio, an online community radio station that started streaming in late 2012. It relaunched in 2015 and adopted the Copper Coast Radio name in July 2018, broadening its identity beyond the village of Annestown to the wider coastal region. The name comes from the Copper Coast, a stretch of Waterford coastline known for its beaches, cliffs, geological heritage and small coastal communities.
